MTS Lab supports hospitals, laboratories, research institutions and industry in East and Southern Africa. Kenya and Zambia are separate operating offices.
How we work
The current public site describes MTS Lab as a team working on maintenance, repair and calibration of clinical and hospital equipment, with related training and advice. That purpose is retained. Superlatives, unverified case studies and accreditation marks are not. SADCAS accreditation is planned as a single multi-location arrangement and has not been granted.
Mission, as published: make expert equipment services accessible, affordable and adaptable. Vision language about “engineering the future of equipment management” is treated as aspiration, not a performance claim.
Integrity in the service offered
Documented work and clear scope
Customer-centred scheduling
Practical support rather than equipment sales pressure
One MTS Lab, in Kenya and Zambia
In Zambia, MTS Lab is operated by Veritas Calibration Lab Limited, trading as MTS Lab. You get the same engineers, the same procedures and the same MTS client portal, backed by a Lusaka office, local contracts and Kwacha invoicing. Kenya work is contracted through MTS -LAB LIMITED. Contracting stays with the legal company in each country; it is distinct from accreditation coverage.
A single, multi-location SADCAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 is planned, covering the Lusaka laboratory, a proposed Nairobi laboratory location, and calibration at client premises, subject to SADCAS approval. Until SADCAS confirms that arrangement, we do not claim accredited, certified or approved status.

Agree the equipment, parameters, service scope and required records before work begins.
Every calibration is performed to a documented procedure, using reference standards whose calibration is traceable to the International System of Units (SI) through national metrology institutes or accredited calibration laboratories.
Each certificate identifies the equipment calibrated, the method used and the reference standards applied, and reports the results together with their measurement uncertainty, expressed at a coverage factor of k = 2 (a level of confidence of approximately 95%).
Where you ask for a pass/fail statement, we agree the decision rule with you before the work begins and state it on the certificate.
Every certificate is reviewed and authorised by a competent person other than the engineer who performed the work, and your records are held securely in the MTS client portal.
Quality systems are being built to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. A single SADCAS accreditation is planned to cover the Lusaka laboratory, a proposed Nairobi laboratory location, and client-site calibration where SADCAS approves that work. This remains planned until SADCAS confirms it. We do not use an accreditation mark, and we do not describe work as accredited, until that grant is made. After approval, the accreditation-holder name, number, locations and scope will be those shown on the issued SADCAS certificate and schedule.
Planned SADCAS accreditation
A single, multi-location SADCAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 is planned, covering the Lusaka laboratory, a proposed Nairobi laboratory location, and calibration at client premises, subject to SADCAS approval. That accreditation has not been granted.
Lusaka is a permanent laboratory location. Nairobi is a proposed permanent laboratory location. Client-site calibration is work performed at a customer’s premises, and is included only where SADCAS approves it.
Legal contracting remains with the company in each country. Kenya work is contracted through MTS -LAB LIMITED. Zambia work is contracted through Veritas Calibration Lab Limited, trading as MTS Lab. Accreditation coverage, once granted, follows the locations and scope on the SADCAS certificate and schedule. It is distinct from which company contracts the work.
Accredited certificates, if and when issued, will follow the SADCAS-approved arrangement for work within the granted scope and locations. They are not issued independently by each country office. After grant, the accreditation-holder name, number, locations and scope will be those shown on the issued SADCAS certificate and schedule.
Until SADCAS grants the planned accreditation, we do not claim accredited, certified or approved status, and we do not display SADCAS or ILAC marks.
